Mrs Appalsamy has 12 years of teaching experience. She started teaching in 2006 in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban. Her career began in the Intermediate Phase teaching English, Social Science, Life Skills and Technology. In the year 2009, she secured a Grade 3 teaching position in Gauteng, Benoni. In 2010, Mrs Appalsamy was appointed as a Mathematics and Natural Science Grade 7 educator in a school in Benoni. She was over the moon when she got this position as her major was Mathematics and she could finally begin teaching a subject that she was most passionate about. Mrs Appalsamy was appointed at Welridge Academy in the year 2012. She currently teaches Mathematics from Grade 4 to 7. Mrs Appalsamy is passionate about teaching children and helping them work towards their goals and future. It is for this reason that she has recently opened up a private tutoring company. If she is not doing private lessons in her spare time, then she is spending quality time with her husband, friends and cat babies. She prides herself being cat mom and has 3 beautiful cat babies. She also has 4 feral cats that she cares for. Apart from being fed daily, the feral cats have their own house, bed and blanket to keep them warm, especially during the winter season. Mrs Appalsamy loves empowering and uplifting learners. She thrives on helping and seeing them grow in confidence and build strong personalities.
If Mrs Appalsamy had a super power, it would be the ability to magically open the hearts and minds of animal and children abusers. It breaks her heart to see animals and children being harmed and hurt on a daily basis across the world.
